Panasonic Systmes Networks Company of America recently introduced the i-PRO WV-ASM200 video management software which allows for the unification of large multi-recorder, multi-site networked video systems for centralised operation and ease-of-use.

The WV-ASM200 can connect up to 100 network video recorders (NVRs) and digital video recorders (DVRs), 64 encoders, and 256 directly connected network and analog cameras to provide centralised control of large systems. Up to 6,400 cameras registered in the recorders and 256 cameras registered in the encoders are automatically indexed in the software. Using optional WV-ASE201 extension software, a camera displayed in an active window can be controlled by the Panasonic WV-CU950 system controller, and the controller jog/shuttle can easily operate recorder playback.

The new i-PRO management software supports 16:9 video streams and 16:9 HD monitors and displays along with 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratio videos from IP cameras on the same screen. H.264 recording data in SD/SDHC memory cards can be quickly downloaded, and the video file format can be converted to MP4 for easy viewing on a PC. The system's ability to receive live images from a camera/encoder or via a recorder supports flexible network design.

The multi-monitor option of the WV-ASE201 extension software enables simultaneous use of Operation Display (1/4/9/16 split), Live Display (1/4/9/16 split) and Map Display on a dedicated monitor. A single or two-monitor operation is also available. A total of 20 screens can be displayed at one time using Operator Display and Live Display simultaneously.

"Centralised and user-friendly control of larger networked systems is a key component of system design and productivity," said Bill Taylor, President, Panasonic System Networks Company of America. "Panasonic's WV-ASM200 ties together video signals from hundreds of cameras and network video recorders giving an operator simple and immediate access to any video he or she needs to view."

When an alarm is triggered, the monitor automatically converts into a map that shows where the alarm occurred. The use of illustrated camera, alarm and recorder icons promotes intuitive operation allowing for up to 64 camera icons to be positioned anywhere on the map with alarm status indicated by icon color.

Sophisticated user management includes user authentication with time-limited password and five user levels. User-Camera View/Control partitioning works in conjunction with the recorders' user management function, allowing for up to 32 user registrations.
