Proxim Wireless Corporation, a leading provider of complete indoor and outdoor wireless broadband systems, announces that its Tsunami GX800, MP8100 and QB8100 wireless backhaul products are now available for purchase by U.S. Federal agencies, as well as many state and local government agencies, through a General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule Contract.

Proxim supply partner, Winncom Technologies, has a GSA Schedule Contract that includes the Tsunami GX800 and Tsunami QB8100 point-to-point and Tsunami MP8100 point-to-multipoint systems. As an established government vendor, Winncom's GSA Schedule allows Proxim's equipment to be more easily procured by government agencies, eliminating time-consuming responses to complex RFPs and lengthy negotiations.

The Tsunami GX800 product is a licensed microwave point-to-point link with up to 622 Mbps aggregate throughput. The Tsunami MP8100 product is a point-to-multipoint microwave transceiver operating in a wide range of licensed and unlicensed frequencies from 4.9-6.4 GHz, 2.3-2.5 GHz. The Tsunami QB8100 product is a point-to-point wireless bridge supporting a wide range of frequencies from 4.9-6.08 GHz and 2.3-2.5 GHz featuring Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) globally in all 5 GHz bands.

The GSA contract is important because Federal, state and local agencies and departments use the schedules to buy billions of dollars in products every year, and many of these agencies will only place orders through GSA Schedule Contracts. In 2010, more than $38.8 billion worth of products were sold through GSA Schedule Contracts with $15 billion spent on Information Technology, the leading government sales sector.
