The blog will include contributions from BSIA members, industry service providers and key Association personnel
The blog underpins the association's growing social media presence and a central focus for discussions

The British Security Industry Association (BSIA) has launched Security HQ, a new blog, aimed at providing a focal point for the Association’s rapidly developing social media and online activity.

Providing opinions, reviews and analysis of industry trends, the blog will include contributions from BSIA members, industry service providers and key Association personnel. Once a month, BSIA Chief Executive, James Kelly, will also provide an insight into the Association’s strategy and his own activity in engaging with Parliamentarians and key industry stakeholders.

“The launch of the BSIA blog underpins the Association’s growing social media presence, and provides a central focus for the discussions we’re having on LinkedIn and Twitter.” comments Amanda Beesley, Head of Communications at the BSIA. “Social media is becoming an increasingly important channel for the Association’s communications, and we hope that the blog will facilitate further engagement with our industry’s online community.”

The first blog post comes from BSIA Export Council Chairman, John Davies, who explores the latest trends in security exporting and predicts which overseas markets may be potentially lucrative for our industry in 2013. February’s blog will see lone worker expert and Chairman of the BSIA’s Lone Worker Industry Group, Patrick Dealtry, reflect on the challenges of developing the lone worker market over the past ten years, particularly relevant as the BSIA prepares to progress the group into a fully-fledged section of membership.

As the cornerstone of the BSIA’s social media activity, the blog will be integrated with and shared via the Association’s other social media channels. With over 1400 followers, the BSIA’s presence on Twitter is growing daily, and many members of Association staff are also developing their own social media presence to allow for specific conversations with end-users, potential members and those companies already belonging to the BSIA. In addition to this, the BSIA operates several members-only LinkedIn Groups, which enable members to discuss common issues outside of regular section meetings.
