Nortech manufactures proximity readers and smart card readers capable of reading a wide range of proximity cards and tokens
Databac will promote the readers throughout Spain and Portugal

British card reader manufacturer Nortech Control Systems has appointed ID specialist Databac (www.databac.com) as the exclusive distributor of its proximity and smart card readers in the Iberian peninsula. From its office in Barcelona, Databac will leverage its local resources to promote the readers throughout Spain and Portugal.

Nortech manufactures proximity readers and smart card readers capable of reading a wide range of 125KHz and 13.56MHz proximity cards and tokens. Its range of proximity card readers can read many formats, including EM4100, EM4102, Hitag1 and Hitag2, Paxton and PAC. Its range of smart card readers supports Mifare and LEGIC as well as reading serial numbers for most smart card types.

Their compatibility with most access control systems makes Nortech readers ideal for new and existing installations. They also enable the use of existing cards and tokens in new access control applications. For added security, Nortech's readers support 13.56MHz smart card technologies that provide increased security and are designed for read/write applications.

Databac managing director Charles Balcomb says, "We have always been impressed with the capabilities of Nortech's range of readers. They perfectly complement our own range of contact and contactless cards and are a valuable addition to our ID product portfolio."

"Nortech readers have seen considerable success in the UK," said Stephen J Blackler, managing director of Nortech Control Systems. "With its extensive experience in card technologies, combined with a well-established Spanish sales office, Databac is ideally placed to increase our penetration in the region."

Databac is a licensed manufacturer of LEGIC cards and produces contact and contactless cards with EM, Hitag, Mifare, DESfire and a host of other technologies.
