Vanderbilt (formerly known as Siemens Security Products) IRM270C - PIR/MW Motion Detector, 18 M Wide Angle

Product Profile

With its range of Intrunet wireless detectors and peripherals, Vanderbilt (formerly known as Siemens Security Products) brings together an in-depth knowledge of sophisticated intrusion detection and communication technologies.

Simple and fast to install, this comprehensive portfolio addresses the most challenging requirements of typical wireless applications and is fully compatible with Vanderbilt (formerly known as Siemens Security Products) IC60 and Intrunet intrusion control systems. All detectors and peripherals are slim and elegant in design and will blend seamlessly in any environment. Based on well-established proprietary wireless protocols, the range delivers reduced installation time and improved aesthetics, at the same time meeting typical wireless challenges by offering maximum flexibility, performance and reliability.

Comprehensive portfolio for the most challenging applications

  • Comprehensive portfolio for the most challenging applications
  • Reduced installation time and complexity
  • Excellent wireless communication range with advanced security features
  • Reliable technologies with proven performance
  • Modern design to meet any aesthetic or cabling restriction

Wider range

Vanderbilt (formerly known as Siemens Security Products) Intrunet range enhances security functionality for a wider range of residential and commercial applications where cabling is restricted or aesthetic considerations prevent the installation of wired detectors. With coverage of up to 300m in open environments, the portfolio includes motion detectors, a door/window contact, glass break detector and safety devices (smoke and flood detectors), control keypad, remote control and an outdoor siren - all powered by standard Lithium batteries.

Straightforward compatibility

The range is based on the well established SiWay and Si2Way wireless protocols, and is either supported as standard by Vanderbilt (formerly known as Siemens Security Products) intrusion control panels or operated through an interface module or gateway depending on the system. Most IC60 control panels have inherent SiWay connectivity, with interface modules available for Si2Way devices. All SiWay/Si2Way based detectors and peripherals can be connected with the Intrunet SI series systems through the dedicated E-BUS gateway. The Intrunet SPC series systems are compatible with SiWay devices, either through the RF module (integrated inside the panel) or the dedicated external gateway. In addition, the SPCK422 keypad has an integrated RF module, thereby offering wireless communication as well as remote control.

Secure, reliable wireless network

SiWay is a proven, secure and reliable technology for radio communication thanks to unique device identifiers and outstanding radio range. Based on an 868MHz radio transmission, SiWay has been developed with communication security as a priority. Si2Way is an extension of the SiWay protocol, and enables bi-directional communication with actuators (e.g. sirens). Communications between the devices and the gateway or panel are regularly monitored, with immediate notification of any jamming attempt. The battery levels and radio communication quality of any detector can easily be checked, further increasing system performance and flexibility.

Quality manufacturing

The Intrunet wireless detectors and peripherals benefit from Vanderbilt (formerly known as Siemens Security Products) long experience in quality manufacturing and control, and are designed to meet the relevant EN standards.

Reliable recognition of intruders is ensured thanks to sophisticated digital MATCHTEC™ signal processing and interconnection between the microwave and passive-infrared sections. To achieve this, both subsystems are subject to a multi-criteria analysis, and any unwanted interference is recognized and suppressed by the individual subsystems.
