Vanderbilt (formerly known as Siemens Security Products) GM570LSN With Field Bus Connectivity For Applications Within Local Security Networks (LSN)

Product Profile

The earliest possible detection of any attempted intrusion is crucial in areas and applications of medium to high security such as ATMs, safes or strong rooms. And, as reliability of detection is equally vital in such applications, it is critical that the performance of the overall installation can continuously be tested and improved. With this in mind, Vanderbilt (formerly known as Siemens Security Products) offers the VdS approved GM775 seismic detector and the GMYA7 seismic detector test unit.

GM775 seismic detector

The detector is the right choice for high risk security applications including modular vaults, vaults with lightweight construction, ATMs armoured with synthetic material and night depositories. Comprehensive features combine to deliver high performance, quality and reliability. The detector is optimized for use on steel and concrete, but also on lightweight synthetic materials. The GM775 features an electronic alarm output, which is ideal for a connection with the GMYA7 seismic alarm indicator system.

GMYA7 alarm indicator system

This system enables users to see alarms or to routinely carry out function tests on up to 56 seismic detectors independently from an intrusion alarm panel. Although primarily aimed at addressing VdS requirements for seismic alarm systems, this functionality is particularly useful for seismic detectors positioned more remotely from a control panel. The system comprises of a key module and an alarm indicator module. Up to seven alarm indicator modules can be linked to one key module, with up to eight detectors per indicator module. The flexible test units enable either all detectors on a system to be tested simultaneously, or those detectors connected to one specific indicator module to be tested independently.

Both products are an integral part of the range of programmable seismic detectors, which is specifically designed for round-the-clock monitoring of safes, cash dispensers, night deposits, strong rooms and modular vaults. Easy to set up on-site or remotely thanks to pre-programmed - yet customisable - application-specific operating parameters, the detectors offer one of the highest detection ranges and the best false alarm immunity available. The seismic detector family is optimized for installation on steel, concrete and synthetic composite materials, and as an additional plus, offers the lowest power consumption and the smallest, slimmest and most modern design on the market.

The combination of advanced digital signal processing and the patented Senstec bimorph sensor technology enables the structure-borne signals caused by mechanical and thermal attacks to be analysed and evaluated against a narrow frequency band, encompassing "threat profiles" of known attacks. Remote sensitivity control further ensures functional noises (e.g. ATMs) will not cause false alarms. As a result, routine "noises" such as traffic or electromagnetic interferences are safely ignored, whilst real threats are reliably detected. The alarm is triggered repeatedly during the attack, giving ample time for intervention before any intruder has managed to gain access to the valuables or serious structural damage is done to the safe or wall.

A full range of accessories is available to make installation even easier, which includes swivel mounting plates, floor and wall recess boxes, as well as anti-drilling foils and watertight housings for extra environmental protection.
