Transmission specialist VIOTRAN's newly launched product range includes their long range UTP transmission system designed for use over CAT5/6 unshielded twisted pair cable up to 1,200 meters.

The TA1001TR UTP transmission system comprises an active transmitter TA1001T and an active receiver TA1001R. The pair is designed for use over CAT5/6 unshielded twisted pair cable up to 1,200 meters and not less than 100 meters. For shorter distances up to 600 meters we recommend our passive video transceiver TP1001VLH.
The TA1001T acts as a video launch amplifier, which converts the unbalanced camera video signal to a balanced signal for transmission along twisted pair cable. It also has a three-position switch to change the output gain in order to compensate for cable length.
The TA1001R converts the balanced video signal, on the twisted pair cable, back to an unbalanced signal for display on a monitor screen, for example. It also acts as a line correction amplifier with two adjustments for colour and brightness.

| Additional info | The signal from a CCTV camera becomes unacceptable after about 60 meters or so of coaxial cable and 100 meters of UTP. It is necessary to amplify and correct the video signal if it is to be fed down practical lengths of cable up to 2Km. |
