Voice recognition systems

Voice recognition or speech recognition is the field of computer science that deals with designing computer systems that can recognise spoken words. This means that the computer can take dictation and not that it understands what is being said.

Voice recognition is commonly used to operate a device, perform commands, or write without having to use a keyboard, mouse, or press any buttons. This is done on a computer with automatic speech recognition (ASR) software programs. Many ASR programs require the user to "train" the ASR program to recognise their voice so that it can more accurately convert the speech to text.

How voice recognition system works –

Speech recognition basically means talking to a computer, having it recognize what we are saying, and lastly, doing this in real time. This process fundamentally functions as a pipeline that converts PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) digital audio from a sound card into recognised speech.
