PCSC Provides Long Beach Airport With New Access Control System

Serving 3.2 million passengers per year and touted as one of the busiest general aviation airports, Long Beach Airport is located 18 miles to the southeast of Los Angeles International Airport.

Recently, a $45-million terminal modernization project has taken place at LGB, with modern, inviting and comfortable passenger concourses, and a variety of new eating and shopping venues.

The airports infrastructure and administrative facilities require complete access control. PCSC’s line of access control solutions were selected by Commercial Controls of Valencia, California, who were tasked with being the airport’s electrical contractor.

PCSC’s enterprise level access control software, LiNC-PLUS, and line of IQ Series access control panels are in use throughout LGB’s facility’s, managing doors, gates, passenger gates, elevators and more.

HID Global keypads, along with small dome cameras, are some of the visible hardware seen by the public throughout the terminal’s concourses.

John Blood, Chief of Security and Airport Safety at Long Beach Airport says of the installation: ‘‘Security is a high priority here at LGB and Passenger Security and Safety is taken very seriously, that's why we chose PCSC to ensure the most modern and technologically advanced security software on the market.’’
