ISS Expo's focus on integrated security reflects its current significance to professional security world
ISS Expo will be launched on 22nd September 2011 at ExCel London.

The professional security industry will see its first major new annual exhibition, focused on integrated security solutions, on 3-4 October 2012 at Docklands ExCel London. The exhibition, to be called the Integrated Security Solutions Exhibition or ISS Expo, aims to attract more than 120 exhibitors and over 2,500 senior security end-user decision-makers in its first year.

Exhibiting companies are likely to include manufacturers of cameras, video recorders, storage and display technologies as well as access control, building management systems, Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) system providers, systems integration firms, manned guarding service providers and security consultancy firms.

IMP Events, which is running the show, will host a launch event for potential exhibitors and visitors in ExCel London at 10am-12 noon on Thursday 22nd September 2011. All those interested in attending the launch should make contact with Graeme Howe or Justin Opie on 01932 566415 or go to IMP Events website at www.integsec.com/launchevent to sign up to attend.

Graeme Howe, event director for ISS explained the move: "The focus on integrated security systems comes at a time when ease-of-use and integration is becoming a key driver for the growth of the professional security world. The work of technical standards bodies like ONVIF, the PSIA and the HDcctv Alliance, have made it much easier to integrate security products like surveillance cameras, digital and network video recorders and video management systems to create security systems cost effectively.

"The growth of the PSIM market and demand for integration with access control, intruder alarm, fire, intercom and Building Management Systems shows the direction of travel. The market is now moving beyond a pure focus on component sales and product functionality towards creating customised security solutions addressing pre-identified security threats. Now is the right time to showcase manufacturers and systems integrators for the benefit of a growing group of public and private sector end-users looking for these capabilities."

ISS Expo will target senior security decision-makers in the retail, banking, utilities and major public sector institutions such as schools, hospitals and local authorities.

It will offer a comprehensive education programme including free seminars, and a conference targeting senior decision-makers focusing which will focus on strategic security planning issues. The exhibition and conference will offer senior buyers an unrivalled "one stop shop" for enhancing their security strategies during this highly focused two day event in London.

Graeme Howe added:

"Security professionals understand that an effective solution requires a strategic approach. Security solutions be it surveillance, access control, manned guarding (and even info security) must now be considered as part of a single security strategy, increasingly headed by a senior director.ISS Expo gives these senior security decision-makers a place to go to swap ideas, compare strategies and learn some of the latest thinking emerging from the security systems integration and manufacturer community."

Several key security vendors commented on the announcement:

James Condron, VP Sales for CNL Software, a world leader and global provider of Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) commented:

"For CNL Software, Integrated Security Solutions 2012 looks like a show born of its time. In recent years there has been a great deal of focus on integration, and it is now accepted that security integration is the only method of enhancing security without increasing security budgets. CNL has been avidly promoting the convergence of all security technologies through PSIM based integration irrespective of the manufacturer for almost a decade. In recent years we have been pushing PSIM functionality into new areas such as BMS and Information Management.

Today PSIM is helping critical infrastructure organizations, large enterprises and government agencies manage measure and minimize their exposure to security risk. As the world's leading vendor of PSIM technology we continue to work with the industry's key manufacturers to eliminate technical restrictions which still make it difficult to get systems talking to each other. We see ISS 2012 an ideal to event to bring together the whole industry; users, manufacturers and integrators all focused on solutions that will ensure the safety and security of each and every one of us
."

Iain Cameron, managing director Mirasys UK, a leading manufacturer of video management systems, said: "Mirasys believes that Integrated Security Solutions 2012 looks like exactly the right kind of show necessary to help organizations understand how to bring together a variety of disparate systems to create complete security solutions. Solutions where threats are minimised and business value is easily perceived. By encouraging the co-operation between consultants, integrators, technicians and manufacturers we believe it will help to deliver comprehensive, intelligent and reliable video management that is part of a complete security system. This show is a step in the right direction, as it creates a forum for all those who are keen to drive these exciting developments in technology convergence."

Alastair McLeod, managing director of IP video surveillance transmissions and storage market leader Veracity, said:
"Integrated Security Solutions 2012 is the right kind of event because of its focus on integration. Everything today is about building systems which integrate surveillance with access control, Building Management Systems, fire and intruder alarms systems and then intelligently analyzing, managing and storing the resulting video data. A show that is focused on accelerating the slow natural convergence of these systems; to deliver greater security, insight and efficiencies; is to be encouraged."

Simon Adcock, chief executive of Atec Security, a proven security systems integrator and multiple winner of the coveted Security Excellence Awards, commented:

"Integrated Security Solutions 2012 is perfectly timed. With innovations in the sector such as PSIM, driving end user interest in intelligent solutions that add value, there is a need for an educational platform - and network - that encourages the security industry to work together to drive best practice."
