Secutech is Asia's international trade fair for electronic and information security, and fire and safety industries

Secutech, Asia's most international trade fair for electronic and information security, and fire and safety industries was held from 20 - 22 April 2011 at the Nangang Taipei World Trade Center, Taiwan. The show was organized by Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media Ltd.

Opened by Mr Chen Chun, Vice Premier of Taiwan, the 14th edition of Secutech attracted 550 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions. These are Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Holland, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Visitors increased by five percent to 23,782 from 95 countries and regions and sourced the latest products and services in 35,873 sqm of exhibition space, an increase of five percent. The top five visitor countries outside Taiwan were (greatest first) Japan, Malaysia, China, Singapore and the United States.

Mr Parson Lee, Managing Director, Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media Ltd commented: "The result has once again demonstrated the confidence that the domestic and international security and safety industry has in this show. The Secutech fairs are well placed to take advantage of the expanding market in Asia and the strength and leading position of Messe Frankfurt in organising trade fairs."

Composec is the world's only exhibition and conference for security components and many key component suppliers exhibited at the show. Exhibitor Afastor Corporation is a Taiwanese agent for Western Digital, a US giant in hard drive technology design and manufacturing. Ms Ming Chen, Deputy Manager, Sales Department said: "The other exhibitors at the show are actually our buyers. So, we are here to give an update of our latest products to our clients. I am pleased to see that the show is very interactive and energetic. Secutech is definitely a platform for total security solutions."

Ms Eva Chang, Sales Representative from DuPont Taiwan Limited exhibited at the Fire & Safety Taipei, Taiwan's only fire and industrial safety industry event. She commented: "The Fire & Safety Taipei event helps us to draw visitors and we've had a busy booth. Many of them are international and quality buyers."

Info Security is acknowledged as the most international information security event for top IT devices and software suppliers in Taiwan. Exhibitor Mr Joe Wong, Head of Marketing, North Asia for Symantec said: "We see great potential in Greater China so we continue to exhibit at the show. We've had a successful show in promoting the cloud based security and management services for small, medium and enterprise businesses."

In addition, Secutech offered over 3,000 IP Security & HD surveillance solutions in various product zones and pavilions covering Digital/HD Surveillance, IP Surveillance, Intelligent Buildings and Smart Home and Access Control.

The Digital/HD surveillance pavilion featured a comprehensive range of video surveillance products with high emphasis on HD and megapixel performance. Exhibiting in this pavilion was EverFocus Electronics Corporation, a leading Taiwanese manufacturer and integrated system solution provider of CCTV cameras, DVRs, IP surveillance solutions, access control systems. Mr Andy Chen, Director of Brand Global Business Development said: "We've obtained many customers at Secutech in previous editions and that's why we keep on exhibiting at this show."

Secutech attracted 550 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions like AxxonSoft, Homescenario, Hisilicon Technologies and many more

AxxonSoft from Russia was a first time exhibitor at the IP Surveillance pavilion which is Asia's largest of its kind for IP surveillance related solutions and equipment. The company is a leading software developer specializing in IP-based physical security management and intelligent video surveillance. Mr Murat Altuev, Board Member and President commented: "We've met customers from all over the world and I think Secutech is a real international show. Also, I would say 99% of the visitors are the right buyers for us. We've decided to join the 2012 show after the first show day."

Sharing a similar view was Homescenario Inc, an expert in providing smart home/smart office solutions including home automation, integrated surveillance, IP video intercom, green home and energy management. Mr Shawn Hsieh, the company's Manager said: "The visitor quality is high and their enquiries are serious. There are so many business opportunities at Secutech." Homescenario was one of the exhibitors at the Intelligent Buildings and Smart Home zone which provides a full range of hardware, software and services for home automation systems.

Mr Alessandro Beria, Managing Director, Eurogroup S.R.L from Italy was a VIP buyer at the business matching forum. He commented: "We are looking for a long term relationship with suppliers who can provide new solutions in the area of HD. Today we've met one-on-one with about 18 suppliers and most of them are quality and interesting suppliers."

Well known industry experts shared expertise at fringe programmes

 Secutech will continue to organise a series of programmes for exhibitors and visitors including the industry’s respected Global Digital Surveillance Forum (GDSF) and Composec seminars.

Secutech continues to organize a series of fringe programmes for exhibitors and visitors including the industry's respected Global Digital Surveillance Forum (GDSF) and Composec seminars which offered business opportunities and the latest market and technology information. This year, the show hosted 115 sessions under 20 various seminars and it was the largest scale of its kind in Asia.

The 10th edition of GDSF was the meeting place for security and IT industry leaders to explore technology breakthroughs and practical applications for convergence. Mr Albert Weng, Director, Global Business Development for D-Link Corporation was the speaker at the "New Trend, New Challenges: Integrated IP Surveillance Solution" session. He said: "I wanted to share our experience and views about business solutions for IP surveillance with the audience. I am happy that they showed great interest in this topic."

Audience member Mr Roger Lo, Sales Engineer for Metanoia Communications Inc said: "I am interested in IP surveillance topics. The speakers were very clear and it helped me to gain different views and perspectives."

Composec seminar speaker Mr Fengguo Yang, Director of Security and Surveillance for Hisilicon Technologies Co Ltd shared his insights into the topic of HD Era of Security Surveillance. He commented: "Composec is an influential platform for the industry. My seminar aimed to ask the HD industry players to have more open cooperation. Only by doing this, the whole industry will improve and flourish."
