Freespace Networks Ltd. to showcase wireless security solutions at IP Expo
FreeSpace Networks Ltd. are exhibiting at the "Life Safety and IP Security" featured area of IP Expo
Wireless transmission specialists FreeSpace Networks Ltd. are exhibiting at the "Life Safety and IP Security" featured area of IP Expo at the Earls Court Exhibition Centre on 20th and 21st October (Stand 407).

The company will be demonstrating its high-performance industrial outdoor wireless Ethernet bridging solutions which extend networks beyond physical wired boundaries.

Across a range of industries, FreeSpace products allow for the cost-effective use of both short and long-range wireless networks. Products range from the compact FS1000 designed for short distances of up to 2 kilometres to the high-spec FS2000 that allows clients to achieve a usable data throughput in excess of 80Mbits per second and with a range of over 40 kilometres depending on installation parameters. Security applications include CCTV, access control and covert surveillance.

With a background in the IT sector, FreeSpace Networks are now offering solutions that will be of interest to CCTV integrators as well as data networking providers serving the security industry. All products are manufactured at the company's ISO9001-certified facilities in Derby, UK.

The theme of "Life Safety and IP Security" at IP Expo is convergence

The theme of "Life Safety and IP Security" at IP Expo is convergence, as IT professionals become increasingly involved with the physical security of their buildings and surrounding areas in addition to data integrity. As part of intelligent building management, FreeSpace are showing that conventional cable runs - with their risk of damage to water supplies, mains power and other utility trunking - are often unnecessary and an outmoded approach.

FreeSpace Networks' wireless bridging products can be supplied as system-ready configured pairs, needing only a mains power source on either end. The devices are simply pointed at each other and the link is created, with further setting such as encryption and passwords being added as required.

Karl Belmar, Operations Director at FreeSpace Networks, said: "The "Life Safety and IP Security" show has focused traditionally on security, life safety and building management environments with IP Expo covering underlying technology such as storage, infrastructure and wireless solutions. Now that the exhibitions have combined, we are particularly pleased to be participating since we are well equipped to serve both sectors."

FreeSpace Networks units have been used at academic institutions as well as retail outlets such as Asda. The company is strong in the leisure sector and has successful applications at Drayton Manor Theme Park in Staffordshire and Blarney Castle, Ireland. There are imminent installations at a university and a Premiership football club.
