Hanwha Techwin America SNV-5010 Vandal Resistant Network Dome Camera On The Right Tracks For European Railway Industry

The Samsung SNV-5010 vandal resistant network dome camera has been approved for use by the European railway industry. Tests carried out by two separate testing houses, which included the ability to withstand extreme vibrations, has resulted in certificates being issued which verify that the SNV-5010 vandal resistant network dome camera is robustly able to operate effectively within the demanding conditions of railway trains and stations.TUV SUD of Germany carried out testing of the SNV-5010 to ensure it was suitable for use at railway stations by complying with the EN-50121 standard, whilst SGS Korea Co Ltd in a separate test was able to issue a certificate of compliance with EN-50155 standard confirming the SNV-5010's ability to cope with the rigorous conditions on board trains."This is an important landmark for Samsung as very few cameras have been able to meet the required standards of the European railway industry and in particular prove they have the capability to reliably operate on board moving trains," said Peter Ainsworth, Senior Product Manager for Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd. "The SNV-5010 is an excellent example of our ability to provide  railway companies and organizations with robust and reliable video  surveillance solutions which, although keenly priced,  are packed full of  technically advanced features offering tangible benefits to railway and trained operators."The SNV-5010 joins a long list of Samsung professional security products,333333 which have been tested and certificated to the EN-50121 standard. The vandal resistant and fully weatherproofed 1.3 Megapixel Samsung SNV-5010 dome camera measures just 100 x 115 x 42mm and is designed specifically for environments where there may be limited space. It utilizes progressive scan technology to capture sharp, high-quality video of moving subjects and features license-free Intelligent Video Analytics (IVA) which has an optical tripwire and enter/exit direction detection capability, as well as an Appear/Disappear function to detect the movement of objects. IVA also has a scene change tampering function, which creates an alert if, for example, paint is sprayed on a camera lens or there is unauthorized movement of a camera away from its usual field of view.

Hanwha Techwin America Launches People Counting Network Dome
Hanwha Techwin America Launches People Counting Network Dome

Although developed in response to demand from retailers who require a reliable tool for monitoring footfall for marketing, merchandising and security purposes, the SND-3080C network dome is likely to be of interest to a wide range of other market sectors including transportation, libraries, museums, car parks, sporting venues and leisure facilities. The people counting feature of the SND-3080C is part of the dome's video analytics capability and it works by simply drawing a virtual line or box area in a certain part of the scene. The dome then counts the number of people that cross the line or enter the box and the data can then be transmitted in XML or CSV formats at selected intervals to a predetermined location. The SND-3080C features true day/night operation with a built-in IR cut filter and can capture and transmit superb quality images up to 4CIF (704 x 576) resolution in real time cross a network. It has a multi-streaming feature that provides the option of utilising H.264, MPEG-4 or MJPEG compression which allows users to select a method which best fits their requirements and network environment. With both Ethernet and BNC connections, the SND-3080C can simultaneously stream IP video across a network, as well as analog video via coaxial cabling. There are various ways in which users can remotely view images captured by the SND-3080C. These include a web browser which provides remote access to the live video stream and data stored on the domes built-in SD memory card slot as well as full access to the OSD menu system. There is also the option to view images via Samsung's licence- free NET-I viewer software and a host of third-party management platforms.Other key features include PoE (Power over Ethernet), Wide Dynamic Range, four-point polygonal privacy masking and progressive scan technology. Full duplex bi-directional audio allows communication between the dome's location and a control room. The SND-3080C is designed to be surface mounted. A flush mount version, the SND-3080CF, has also been introduced with identical features and functionality as the SND-3080C.As is the case with all Samsung professional security products, the SND-3080C and SND-3080CF are offered with full support services from Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd, including free system design, free technical support and a full three-year warranty.
