MedWest has upgraded itself with Video Management system from March Networks
MedWest security Director Jason Woodbery firmly believes in advanced IP video surveillance from March Networks

March Networks, a global provider of intelligent IP video solutions announced that MedWest Health System an affiliation of three hospital campuses in North Carolina has standardized on the company's VideoSphere Video Management System (VMS) to enhance safety and security, and guard against false liability claims.

The solution enables MedWest to centralize video management and respond more effectively to emergency situations with its live monitoring capabilities. It also allows the healthcare centre to deploy an advanced IP video network while protecting investments in existing analog cameras.

"Our goal is to be this region's leading healthcare provider, therefore we needed a reliable, scalable solution that delivers the latest advances in IP video surveillance and a clear ROI," said Jason Woodbery, MedWest Director of Security. "The March Networks solution not only ensures that we can maintain the highest security standards, it also provides us with significant operational benefits. It's easy to maintain and operate, and video evidence from the systems has already been instrumental in resolving multiple incidents."

Video Management System is the latest in IP video solutions for an enhanced network of safety and security

Working with March Networks certified solution provider Intelligent Access Systems, MedWest deployed a VMS solution that integrates industry-leading server platforms with the pre-configured VMS software and IP camera connection licenses to ensure rapid installation and optimum performance. It is also using VideoSphere® Edge encoders and 4000 C Series hybrid recorders to bring its existing analog cameras onto the IP network and support new IP cameras in some locations. Access to archived video evidence, as well as live video streaming from cameras covering its emergency rooms and behavioural health unit, are tightly restricted a key requirement given the need to balance operational awareness with privacy considerations.

"Medical institutions worldwide are under increasing pressure to find new efficiencies in the face of rising healthcare costs and declining reimbursements," said Net Payne, Chief Marketing Officer, March Networks. "They are also dealing with numerous security-related issues, such as costly equipment theft and liability claims. Our IP video solutions can help these institutions realize substantial savings by providing high-definition video evidence and enterprise-class system management, as well as the ability to transition cost-effectively to IP video networking."
