ASIS 2012 will showcase an even more impressive display of system interoperability having interoperable systems and products relying on PSIA specifications
The ability to share information, on an interoperable basis, is now a reality with specifications by the PSIA

ASIS 2012 will showcase an even more impressive display of system interoperability with more than a dozen companies having interoperable systems and products relying on PSIA specifications.

IP-enabled security products have been available for more than fifteen years, but have been slow to realize their true potential as interoperable devices. The ability to share information, on an interoperable basis, is now a reality with specifications established by the Physical Security Interoperability Alliance (PSIA). Establishing IP cameras interoperability, based on standard protocols, was demonstrated to the industry by the PSIA in 2009. System interoperability, sharing alert data and information between a broad range of devices, was first demonstrated by the PSIA in early 2010.

At least nine use cases will be demonstrated at ASIS 2012, including discovery of equipment and systems, a tablet-based implementation supporting security and building automation functions, and a range of PSIM-supported functions that address access and intrusion edge devices.
