QNAP® Security recently announced that its VioStor network video recorder (NVR) series now support Dahua Technology IP cameras. QNAP VioStor NVR, a professional surveillance system requiring no PC for system installation, features high quality hardware and software designs, and delivers remarkable performance in real-time video and audio monitoring and recording. Coupled with its award-winning high performance storage solutions, QNAP VioStor NVR provides a reliable surveillance solution for IP camera users of Dahua Technology.

QNAP has gained strong reputation for its technology in storage and surveillance over years. In 2007 QNAP entered the surveillance market with the first network video recorder (VioStor NVR). In 2011, it successfully launched the first Linux-based stand-alone NVR with megapixel recording ability to well support various surveillance needs. Expanding the compatibility list with worldwide renowned IP camera brands has always been the emphasis of QNAP to provide better service in the surveillance market. As the surveillance needs in China and the global demand for high definition network recording are growing, QNAP further integrates Dahua Technology’s IP camera this year, aiming to offer more comprehensive surveillance solutions to the system integrators in China and the global customers.

VioStor stand-alone NVR offers remote monitoring from multiple servers, supporting up to 128 channels of video, and provides rich network video functionality, such as Intelligent Video Analysis (IVA), advanced event management and watermarking. Security managers can obtain useful visual aid with detailed E-maps on the monitoring page to improve management efficiency, along with receiving real-time notifications through text messages and emails. In VioStor firmware V3.6.0, further improvements include the enhanced system reliability for long-term recording and the newly supported hard disk warning alert which offers pop-up reminder about the disk operation time when the value reaches the preset hours, effectively keeping the administrators well informed of the hard disk status before any hard disk fails completely.

“QNAP is the expert in video storage and solution. The integration is smooth and successful,” commented Peter Pan, the Network Camera Product Manager of Dahua Technology. “As is known, Dahua Technology has been committed itself to offering customers with fittest solution and high-end product quality, and the cooperation with QNAP further enriches system choices for customers. We’re looking forward to widening our cooperation in the coming days.”

“Dahua Technology plays an important role in the surveillance market in China. We are very pleased to integrate the IP cameras of Dahua Technology with VioStor NVR,” said Kent Chung, product manager of QNAP Security. “We have been working on expanding our IP camera compatibility list with reputed global brands, and this integration provides our users with more flexibility in selecting suitable IP cameras when deploying an IP surveillance system.”
