Plustek to exhibit world’s slimmest and lightest video surveillance device at IFSEC 2010
Plustek will be sharing a stand with EtherWAN, a leader in Ethernet connectivity for IP surveillance

Plustek Technology Inc., a provider of surveillance and imaging solutions, is delighted to announce that it will be showcasing a new security device at IFSEC 2010 (Birmingham NEC, 10-13 May). Plustek will be sharing a stand with EtherWAN, a leader in Ethernet connectivity for IP surveillance.

Plustek's NVR Slim240 is one of the world's slimmest and lightest video surveillance devices (152 x 125 x 45 mm/785 g), yet it contains all the features you would expect to find on a regular-size NVR (network video recorder). The compact design offers low power consumption (max 8-10W) and easy installation, and the aluminum alloy design allows it to operate without a fan - reducing noise and minimizing maintenance.

Similar to other Plustek network surveillance recorders, the NVR Slim240 is designed with an open-platform concept to allow integration of linear systems. The NVR Slim240 is also future-proofed towards the growing areas within surveillance technology thanks to H.264 high-definition recording. Other popular video formats supported include Motion-JPEG and MPEG-4.

The NVR Slim240 is designed to work primarily with network (IP) cameras but can also manage traditional analog cameras via a local network or over the Internet. The NVR Slim240s bundled software application enables simultaneous recording and remote access to live views and auto camera detection, making it a comprehensive security solution for monitoring premises, detecting shoplifters, reducing false alarms and increasing personal safety.

Plustek will also demonstrate its latest range of mobile network video recorders, specifically designed for mobile surveillance in all types of public and commercial vehicles including taxis, vans, buses, trains, limousines and heavy goods vehicles. Engineered to withstand the heavy vibrations generated by vehicles and temperature fluctuation, the NVR 4200V is built for dependability, long life and low maintenance.

Edward Hill, Business Development Manager, Plustek, said: "We are really excited to be launching our new product at IFSEC 2010. The NVR Slim240 is a practical device that packs a wealth of real-world functionality into a compact box. With the NVR Slim240 we have really focussed on design and ease of use. The show will also allow us to demonstrate our latest range of products designed for mobile surveillance."
