IFSEC & FIREX Awards celebrate
excellence in product design, innovation
and installation
UBM Live - organizer of IFSEC International and FIREX International, the world’s leading annual security and fire events – has announced the shortlist for the IFSEC & FIREX Industry Awards 2013.

Carefully drawn up from the wide number of entrants across the security and fire sectors, the following categories have been shortlisted: CCTV Camera Equipment of the Year, CCTV System of the Year (Excluding Cameras and Lens), Intruder Alarm or Exterior Deterrent Product of the Year, Guarding Service Delivery to Customer, Physical Security Product of the Year, Access Control Product of the Year (Including Biometrics), Security Project or Installation of the Year, Communication Product of the Year, Lone Worker Protection Solution of the Year, Fire Product Innovation of the Year (Active), ASFP Passive Fire Protection Installation Project of the Year, Fire Safety Engineering Solution of the Year. With the Best Policing Partnership of the Year due to be announced shortly.

Charlie Cracknell, IFSEC Event Director, said: “We have been delighted by the huge number of entrants to the IFSEC & FIREX Awards this year. As the security and fire industries become increasingly integrated, acknowledging the significant impact they have on each other is crucial. Judges comprise of leading names from the security and fire leading industries, including: Alex Carmichael (technical director at the British Security Industry Association), Mick Phipps (head of loss prevention at Wilkinson), Mike Smalley (MoD of the Security Services Group), Graham Ellicott (CEO of the Fire Industry Association) Brian Sims (media solutions manager across UBM Live's Security and Fire Portfolio), Jeff Little OBE (CEO at the National Security Inspectorate) and Wilf Butcher (CEO, Association for Specialist Fire Protection).

With an overwhelming number of entrants, the awards will be presented during the week of IFSEC International and FIREX International 2013 at a black tie gala dinner on 13th May 2013 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel. Gerry Dunphy, FIREX Sales Director, commented: “The IFSEC & FIREX Awards are a great way of celebrating excellence in product design, innovation and installation. As the cross-pollination between the fire and security sectors increases, I am eager to see what the winners have achieved.
