| LILIN's IP video solutions can reduce costs dramatically |
The Brief
One of the biggest fashion franchise chain stores based in Taiwan wanted an IP video system for managing store window displays. The Headquarters of the chain stores is located in Taipei. Therefore, managing each window display by visiting each store became a time consuming task.
The Challenge
There are two challenges (1) limited bandwidth available and (2) managing 300 sites’ video at HQ. Each site is required to install one PTZ camera for 360 degree video information. However, the video information goes through an existing point-of-sale (POS) Internet data line for minimizing leasing expense. The second challenge is that the current free CMX supports only 36 channels. Managing 300 sites is limited by the free CMX software HD 3.2.
The Solution
POS data transaction is crucial to the business. Limited time access to the video is preferred by the users. D1 resolution is also required. We added a “sending key frame” feature for the D1 H.264 to avoid a data traffic jam in the POS system. Since there are more than 300 sites, the fashion franchise HQ divided 300 sites into several regions for management purpose.
MIS manager in HQ predefines all the regional sites by using CMX software HD 3.2 and exports the sites as regional database for regional managers. The manager of a regional manager can then import this database in CMX software HD 3.2 for managing window displays in each season change via CMX software HD 3.2.
The Result
CMX software HD 3.2 provides a free solution for managing more than 300 sites at HQ and regional offices. Before adopting the system, visiting each store was a consuming task. LILIN’s IP video solution can reduce the operating costs dramatically. Free CMX software HD 3.2 and IPS212 IP PTZ cameras run on the existing Internet line, which provides a cost-effective solution to managing franchise chain stores globally.
