In simple terms, the integration of Paxton Net2 with our VMS ensures that operators can instantly view live or recorded video to visually verify access control events,” said Enrico Bizzaro, Head of Integrations at Wavestore. “However, our respective engineering teams have worked closely together to achieve a level of functionality that delivers what we believe is the best-in-breed solution for video, data and access control management.

Net2 is a PC based access control solution which offers centralized administration and control of sites from single to hundreds of doors and with up to 50,000 users. It can be easily customized to set up access privileges to groups or individuals, while event reports can be generated with just a few clicks.

Deep Integration

With an increasing number of access control and video surveillance systems being specified for the same projects, end-users are understandably looking for a high level of interaction between the two technologies in order to provide a complete solution,” said Enrico Bizzaro. “With this in mind, we are able to offer, in partnership with Paxton, a solution that provides two-way communication between the respective systems. This enables, for example, doors to be locked and unlocked remotely via Wavestore’s WaveView client application for seamless operation.

Wavestore’s ‘any video, any format’ philosophy sees its VMS support all leading camera vendors across multiple camera technologies. These include very high megapixel, UHD, 4K, HD, 360° fisheye, thermal and analog cameras operating on H.264, MJPEG, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, MxPEG and JPEG200 video formats. Wavestore can also integrate a host of other devices and sensors into its VMS, allowing operators to simultaneously view, control and manage live video, recorded footage and integrated devices, all from one screen and all at the same time, to create a fully scalable and powerful total security solution.

Real-time Verification

Other key features of the integration include the ability to easily search for access control events from any keyword, such as person’s first name, surname or any other database credentials and instantly bring up video and backup using Wavestore’s 3-click evidential export function from associated cameras.

There is also the ability to view video of events in real time, such as ‘access denied’ and, thanks to the Wavestore rules engine, users can configure any number of customized actions in response to trigger events, such as when a person of interest presents a token to a specific door reader.
