Philips has added two new compact single-channel digital video recorders to their fast growing range which already includes 9 and 16-channel models.  The new single-channel DVR1 and DVR1EP variants record video images digitally to an internal 30 or 70 GB hard drive and provide instant high quality playback of images on a standard video monitor.  These easy-to-use models are ideal for low cost CCTV surveillance in schools, banks, industry, shops, small businesses and medical installations etc.  Key features include:
  • Advanced compression for high quality images with minimum disk space
  • User defined recording times or fully automatic event recording from alarms etc
  • Variable recording speeds from 0.02 to 50 images/sec
  • Fast search and retrieval using time/date or alarm events

Simple front panel controls, including jog/shuttle playback control, make it extremely easy to navigate through the menu (displayed on a connected monitor), select options as well as view images.  Operation is also possible via an optional supplied remote control.  An optional cable incorporating an IR sensor enables remote control even if the recorder is out of the line of sight.
