3M Cogent, Inc. was honored with the Biometrics, Identification, and Credentialing Award at the SIA New Product Showcase at ISC West for its MiY-ID Multi-function Outdoor Biometric Access Control Reader. MiY-ID is 3M Cogent's latest outdoor multi-purpose, multi-functional biometric access control reader. With its ground-breaking "Make it Yours" application development platform, MiY-ID can virtually interface with any PACS and government credentials such as PIV, TWIC, and CAC.

3M Cogent, a wholly owned subsidiary of 3M Company, is a leading provider of Automated Biometric Identification Systems, identity management solutions, and biometric access control products to governments, law enforcement agencies, and commercial customers worldwide. The New Product Showcase (NPS), sponsored by the Security Industry Association (SIA), is held annually in conjunction with ISC West at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas to recognize the best security product innovations.

This year's competition included 85 new products and services. The NPS judging took place with 20 judges representing various segments of the industry viewing presentations by entrants. Judges also reviewed written materials submitted by the entrants and, in many cases, visited the ISC West booths of the entrants to study the products more closely.

"Seeing the latest security solutions at the New Product Showcase is one of the best parts of ISC West," SIA CEO Richard Chace said. "The Security Industry Association congratulates each of the winners for their industry-leading approaches to enhancing safety and thanks all of the competitors for participating in the NPS and, more importantly, for helping to move security technology forward."
