DSEI will host a "Rising Stars" reception sponsored by Lockheed Martin UK on Friday 13th September, to encourage the next generation to network and learn from senior naval, land, air, medical and security personnel as well as leading industry stakeholders.
The reception will begin at 12:00 with a high-level panel session focusing on the future of the defense industry. The panel will comprise of: Air Vice-Marshal Mike Lloyd, Air Officer Commanding No 22 (Training) Group and Chief of Staff Training, Royal Air Force; Rear Admiral C J Hockley, Flag Officer Scotland, Northern England & Northern Ireland and Flag Officer Reserve Forces, Royal Navy; Major General Kevin Abraham, Director General for Army Reform, British Army; Major General M L Riddell-Webster CBE DSO late Black Watch, Defense Academy; as well as guest speakers from Lockheed Martin UK.
The comprehensive panel, and the rare opportunity for trainees to meet their peers throughout the UK supply chain and those serving on the front line, has met with considerable support from key players in the defense industry.
DSEI has traditionally focused on the senior levels of management and leadership in Defense and Security, but recognizing that partnerships in the next generation of defense professionals begin now, DSEI is offering free admission to apprentices and trainees from the military and the defense industry on the event's final day.

The defense industry employs around 300,000 people in the UK, with 25,000 graduates and 3,000 apprentices refreshing that work force in the last year alone", said Event Director, Duncan Reid.
