Canon introduces its range of network cameras and software at IFSEC 2011

Canon Europe, world-leader in imaging solutions, is exhibiting its latest security technology at IFSEC 2011 (Hall 04, booth E40), including four new 1.3 megapixel network surveillance cameras and the latest Canon network video recording software. Canon's recently announced high definition network cameras (the VB-M40VB-M600DVB-M600VE and VB-M700F) will be available across Europe from June 2011 and include newly designed Canon lenses, the Canon DIGIC NET imaging processing platform and embedded video content analytics. On stand, Canon will show its full line up of standard definition and high resolution cameras alongside three software packages, and will demonstrate ONVIF compatibility with its third party video management software partners AxxonSoft.

Canon's Network Video Recording Software (RM-64, RM-25 and RM-9), supports H.264, a highly cost efficient compression method which drastically reduces the storage requirements of recording high resolution megapixel video. Canon will also be showcasing its involvement in a challenging project at the Colosseum in Rome, which provides the security team with higher quality images to improve their ability to protect the World Heritage Site. Canon cameras are used in a new digital surveillance infrastructure, which replaces an analog solution.

"Our new megapixel network cameras demonstrate how we are applying our expertise and market leadership in imaging technologies such as Digital SLR, broadcasting and analytics..."

Floris Oranje, Business Development Manager for Video Communications Cameras, Canon Europe says: "Our new megapixel network cameras demonstrate how we are applying our expertise and market leadership in imaging technologies such as Digital SLR, broadcasting and analytics, to the surveillance sector."

"As the migration from analog to digital video security continues, our megapixel offering provides exceptional image quality, letting users see greater detail in more light conditions. Customers like the Colosseum in Rome are really seeing the difference."
